You know, sometimes I think it's better never to meet a poet...because it kind of ruins everything. I'm afraid to find out what Lawrence Ferlinghetti is like.

I couldn't get a ride!

Crap! You should have told me! I would've given you a ride. No, really. It was so amazing. They had a segment of readings from college students and I was able to read one of my poems to a crowd of about 500... it was amazing. I was applauded and tons of people were impressed. Random people just came up to me and wanted to shake my hand. I exchanged email addresses with some of the recognized poets. I'm not sure if Billy Collins or Ted Kooser were in the crowd when I read, but some of the other recognized poets were, and many of them were impressed too. It was just so incredibly amazing. My mom did go with me, and she took a picture of me reading! Wish I would have got a photo of myself with Mr. Collins. :/ But I'm sure I will meet him again someday. I will post the photos soon
