The things he had just learned, the secrets that he had long forgetten, it was all too much to take in on one go. Having to fight against
Jeane immediately after only made things doubly worse. It had been so long since their last meeting, too.
In some ways, Travis was thankful that they finally met again this way. This time there would be no qualms in actually fighting her. Defeating her. Just two assassins doing their job. He hated to admit it, but it had almost seemed as if Bad Girl was right. This was the daily grind for him. With his beam katana raised, he took a stance, readying himself for the first attack.
Jeane raced around the ring, her moves swift and precise. Her kicks and punches were jarring, enough to throw off his balance the first couple of times. Eventually, he was able to counter with a few moves of his own.
The fight was much shorter than anything he was used to. It was the emotional baggage that he carried with him that made things difficult. Unlike the others, he had some kind of real connection to Jeane, even if it had been in the past. It was only during this fight that he actually questioned what he had planned. Whether to kill her or not.
However, when he saw the opening in her attack he rushed forward. He had gotten a few shost in before she blocked his katana with her leg. Trying to counter, he pushed against her with all his strength, willing that he wouldn't go down now. Not against Jeane.
But it was that one thought that brought his downfall. Jeane took advantage of his moment of weakness and pushed, harder than she had a few seconds prior. It was enough to make him stumble, and before Travis knew it, she had punched him hard enough in the chest to actually break skin.
Blood streamed out of his open wound and Travis fell on his knees then to the ground. He had heard a small laugh come from his opponent before his vision failed him and everything went black.
Travis stared at the ceiling for a few moments. Things hadn't played out that way in actuality. The outcome was different. He hadn't lost. But no one else knew that here nor would they have really cared. Probably.
Reaching over the table, he pressed a button cutting the feed of his Dreamberry off.
