I talked with Deidara this evening. I can't even believe he suggested what he did. *frowns* I wonder when Sakura is going to stop by... I need her to set my mind at ease...
------------------------------------------------
Deidara walks into the frat house, looking damn well pleased with himself. He spent the night with Tenten so he had every reason to feel good. He places his jacket on the coat rack and kicks off his boots.
Sasori heard someone enter the house but didn't bother to get up from his work. He placed his pencil down on the desk and began to read over his paper.
Deidara goes upstairs to the room and comes in. "Hi Sasori yeah." He seems awfully chipper today. He goes over to his bed an flops down on it.
His face was serious as always. "Hello." Sasori's gaze didn't divert from his proof reading.
Dei lifts up his head and looks over at Sasori. "What are you working on yeah?"
"Art History paper." He laid the sheet back down on the desk and made a few more marks.
"Oh fun yeah..." His voice full of sarcasm.
Sasori nodded and laid the pencil on top of the paper. He leaned back in the desk chair and turned his head to Deidara. "So, why are you in such a good mood?"
A grin crossed his features. "guess."
"Guess?" he raised a brow. "I'm not up for guessing games."
Deidara sticks out his tongue at him. "You're not fun yeah. Anyway what have you been up to besides homework?
Sasori sighed a little and rubbed the bridge of his nose. "Nothing really." He shrugged. "Just waiting for Sakura and Tenten to come back from the Doctor's office."
Deidara sits up and frowns in concern. "Doctor's office? Is something wrong yeah?"
"Sakura has been throwing up and sleeping a lot." He began to fiddle with the pencil again.
Deidara frowns a little more. "That's not good. Have you two been using protection yeah?"
"What does that have to do with anything?" Sasori paused and raised his brow.
Anime sweat drop appears on Deidara. "Haven't you paid attention in health class? Throwing up and sleeping a lot are the first signs that a woman is pregnant yeah."
Sasori twitched. "She was sick when we started dateing." His grip on the pencil tightened. He didn't want to think of that. "I'm sure it's just her haveing a difficult time recovering from the flu."
He cross his legs and sits up on the bed, placing his hands on his knees. "Well lets just hope that is the case, but that is a long time to recover from a flu. So I take it you have been using protection yeah?"
Sasori didn't reply as he sat stareing at the paper on his desk.
Deidara can tell from his silence the answer. He puts his head in his hands. "What are you going to do if she is pregnant yeah?"
Sasori bit the inside of his cheek and the pencil snapped in his grip. "She's not pregnant."
"You don't know that for sure yeah." He sighs and lays back down on the bed, his hands behind his head. "But what if in the future she does get pregnant? What then yeah?"
He didn't release the pencil pieces in his hand. "I don't know..." His voice almost seemed to quiver. She couldn't be pregnant. As long as he didn't believe it, it wouldn't be true. He sighed and realeased the tension in his hand as the pencil rolled in three pieces across the paper.
Deidara notices the pencil and sits up. "Wow... The thought of her being pregnant really has you scared yeah."
Sasori's brow furrowed. "I'm not afraid," he hissed his words through his teeth.
Deidara holds up his hands in defense. "Hey calm down. How about we change the subject yeah?"
"I think that would be a good idea..." Sasori stood up from the desk, pushing the chair back and not bothering to roll it back up to the desk.
Deidara nods, he can tell Sasori is sensitive on the subject. "So what else is going on yeah?"
Sasori rubbed the back of his head and just stood there. "Nothing really...." He made eye contact with Deidara. "You never told me why you were so happy when you came bounceing in here a few minutes ago..."
Deidara laughs a little and scratches the back of his head, a light blush coloring his cheeks. "Well I just got back from Tenten's yeah..."
Sasori nodded. "Ah, I see.. no need to finish." He turned away from the desk and walked to the center of the room restlessly.
Deidara arches an eyebrow. "Are you sure you are alright? Talking about it might help yeah."
"What's their to talk about?" He shrugged and plopped down on Deidara's bed.
Dei pokes him in the shoulder. "You don't act like this unless something is wrong yeah. Just give in and tell me."
Sasori looked at Deidara, twisted his mouth, and raised his brow. "I have nothing to say." He closed his eyes and laid back across the foot of the bed.
"That's a lie and you know it yeah." He leans over so that his face is hovering over Sasori's "Just tell me. You'll feel a lot better yeah."
Sasori looked away from Deidara. He felt an uncomfortable feeling in his stomach with Deidara that close to him. "I don't think she's pregnant." He sighed.
Deidara sighed and pulled away a little. "Well just prepare yourself yeah. Just incase." He leaned back on his hands and continued to look at Sasori. "Remember the one time I thought I got that girl pregnant?"
"No..." Sasori turned to look at the blonde. He'd gotten someone pregnant?
"Don't blame you for not remembering yeah. we were seniors in high school after all." Deidara sighs and looks up at the ceiling. "I was freaking out internally the whole time until she'd told me it was a false alarm yeah."
"Meaning you didn't get her pregnant," Sasori rolled his eyes and turned over on his side faceing away from Deidara.
"No I didn't, but for a few days I thought I did, and that can be just as bad yeah." He looks at Sasori and tilts his head to the side. "I kept wondering what I was going to do if she decided to keep it or got an abortion. I kept wondering what I had to do if I had to be a father yeah."
That uncomfortable feeling in Sasori's stomach wouldn't go away. "Look... she's not pregnant." She wasn't, so he didn't have to think about those things. It was a waste of time.
"I didn't say that she was. I'm just saying you need to brace yourself yeah." He leans back again the head board of his bed. "I know what it is like yeah."
Sasori sighed and shrugged. Just thinking about that possibility exhausted him and gave him a massive headache.
"Fine I'll stop talking about it yeah." Deidara looked up at the ceiling trying to think of something to distract Sasori. "hmmm... By the way, how did you react when you figured out my crush yeah? I've been wondering about that."
Sasori twitched. "I didn't really..." He didn't know how to explain his reaction. It was a very odd feeling.
Dei arches an eyebrow. "You mean you weren't surprised yeah?"
"I don't think surprised is the right word..." he refused to look at Deidara.
"How about shocked yeah?"
He shook his head. Numb was a good word for it.
"Then what?" Now Deidara was curious.
"I didn't feel anything."
"You're kidding yeah? Not a thing?"
He tried to read Deidara's voice but couldn't pick up anything. "What were you expecting?"
Deidara shrugged a little, "I don't know. Shocked, surprised, disgusted, and uncomfortable all come to mind yeah."
"Shocked and surprised... barely. It just didn't seem wrong." He ran his finger along the end of the bed. "Disgusted? Hardly. Uncomfortable? Not at all."
Deidara just nods.
Sasori sighed. "I'm going to bed." He sat up and went to get in his own bed.
