Last night when I got back from working in the studio... Deidara and I
finally exchanged Christmas gifts. Apparently he knows me better than I
thought he did.
Deidara was upstairs in the bed
room, laying on his be just being lazy. He was enjoying the last few
days left of break before the spring semester started up again.
Sasori came into the room and lazily dumped his stuff in the corner as always, before yawning and stretching toward the bed.
Deidara looked up as Sasori came in and plopped down on his bed. A smirk came to his lips. "Had a long day yeah?"
Sasori shrugged. "I suppose." He turned his head slightly to look at the blonde. "You?"
Deidara shrugged and looked up at the ceiling. "It was okay yeah."
Sasori
smiled and pulled his arms back behind his head, following Deidara's
action and looking at the ceiling. It was a plain ceiling, white with
no markings except for the millions of little bumps and their millions
of little shadows.
"By the way... How was your
Christmas? We haven't had a chance to talk much since I got back into
town yeah." Deidara looked over at his friend with a curious look.
"It was alright, I suppose..." a slight smile crossed his lips as he thought of Sakura's face when she recieved his proposal.
He sits up and gets a better
look at Sasori's dreamy expression. "Should I leave you alone so that
you can fantasize about Sakura yeah?"
"Do whatever you like," his usual somber look reappeared and he closed his eyes.
Deidara mutters just loudly
enough so that Sasori can hear him. "Damn... Wish I had my camera to
take a picture of that look you just had yeah..."
"Oh?" He raised a brow. "And what exactly would you do with that picture?"
"Put it with my other blackmail pictures yeah." He smirked at his silver haired friend.
"Uh-huh..." he rolled his eyes and sat up in the bed before getting up to put his bags in the closet.
Deidara sighs and lays back down
on his bed. "I don't want break to end so soon. It feels like we just
go out of classes yeah."
"I feel like I never got out," Sasori said honestly. He always seemed to be in the studio working on one project or the other.
"You're lucky that you can still work on stuff yeah." He held up his cast arm.
Sasori noted the colorful array on
Deidara's arm but decided not to comment. He crouched down to the
duffle bag now sitting in the closet and dug through it.
Deidara arched a brow at Sasori. "What are you looking for yeah?"
"Nothing," he said as he reached
further into the bag and finally pulled out what it was he'd been
looking for. It was a green gift bag with yellow ribbon and paper
hanging out of it.
Deidara shrugged and went back to starring at the ceiling, feeling very relaxed.
Sasori stood and walked over to Deidara, frown firmly placed. "Here." The bag dangled over Deidara's face.
Arching a brow he looked up at the bag over his face. "What's that yeah?"
"What do you think it is?" He dropped the bag on Deidara's chest and crossed his arms over his own.
He looked at the bag suspiciously and then back at Sasori. "I'm nothing that is going to jump out and poison me is it yeah?"
"Why don't you open the bag and find out?" Sasori continued to frown.
Cautiously Deidara opened the bag and took out the yellow tissue paper before peering inside.
He pulled out the brand new stuffed owl and looked at it. "It's an owl plushie yeah."
"Mhm," Sasori scratched the back of his head and looked away. "Merry Late Christmas."
Deidara smiled at the owl and
put it down before reaching under his bed to pull out a wrapped gift.
"I guess I better give yours now yeah." he said with a grin.
Sasori arched his brow. "You got me something?"
"What you think I wasn't going to get you something yeah?" He held out the gift to him. "Just take it an open it."
Sasori reached out and took the
gift from Deidara and opened it slowly, a little unsure if it was safe
or not.
Sasori sat back a bit surprised when he found a plushie scorpion
amongst the wrappings. "Th.. thank you?" He seemed a bit confused.
Deidara chuckled a little. "Just pick up the scorpion yeah. There is something under it."
Sasori lifted up the plush and
found beneath it a shiny, flat, square object that caused a strange
look on his face. It wasn't a bad expression, just one that showed he
wasn't expecting it. He lifted it up. "How'd you know I like HIM?"
Deidara gave him a 'you have got to be kidding me look'. "The HIM wallpaper on your computer was a hug hint yeah..."
Sasori chuckled and rubbed the back of his head. "I guess it would."
"And not to mentioned that you
played their other cd for three days straight when you first got it
yeah." Deidara smirked at the look on Sasori's face now.
"Okay..." he said slowly and looking away. "Maybe it was a bit more obvious than I thought."
"You think yeah?" he chuckled as he laid back on his bed.
"Thank you," he said as he laid both items at the foot of his bed. He didn't know what else to say.
"Don't mention it yeah." He picks up the stuffed owl at looks at it. "So why did you get me this yeah?"
"I don't know really..." he said
frustratedly. "I knew you gave your other to TenTen... and I knew how
much it meant to you... and..." he shrugged not really knowing why he
did what he did. He just did it.
"Thanks yeah." Deidara smiled and set it on his desk next to the teddy bear Tenten gave him a while back.
Sasori sat on his bed and picked up the scorpion toy and just looked at it.
"I thought the scorpion would be a good gag gift yeah."
He held it up, smiled, and laid it
back down before he himself laid back on the bed, back to counting the
bumps on the ceiling. What number was he at again?
Deidara sighed and looked out the window by his bed. "So have you and Sakura started making plans yet yeah?"
Sasori sighed, they hadn't done anything really. He still needed to see her parents and that made him nervous. "No."
"Well you two just got engaged so that is no surprise yeah."
"Yeah," Sasori said slowly. He grabbed his pillow and rolled over on his side. "Good night, Deidara."
"Good night yeah." Deidara yawned and crawled under the covers of his bed before drifting off to sleep.
