I visited Sakura tonight. She doesn't look very well at all. I'll have to make sure she gets some rest. I am pleased that she seems to like the gift I had for her. I need sleep.
*falls face first on desk*
Sasori walks up to the door of the Haruno residence and removes one hand from his pocket to press the door bell. He can hear it ring inside the house. How long had it been? A week. He bit his bottom lip slightly.
Sakura sighed and walked to the door, wondering if it was TenTen that was there to visit again. She opened the door and the weak smile froze on her lips as she saw Sasori.
"Sakura?" he looked at her concerned. She didn't look well.
"...You're home? You're finally home?" She didn't know whether she wanted to punch him or kiss him senseless.
He nodded at her. "Yes, I'm home." He felt bad that he didn't tell her where exactly he was headed, again.
She bit her lower lip, not quite looking at him. "...I'm glad you're back." She had missed him so much but now when he finally had come back, she wasn't sure how to greet him anymore.
She was acting very strangely. He pushed both hands deeper into the pockets of his coat. "May I come in?"
Sakura blinked. Why hadn't he already? "Of course you can," she said unenthusiastically.
He entered the house casually, hands still in his pocket. He almost seemed to be fiddleing with something. Sasori looked around at the pictures and items hanging on the wall before he focused his eyes back on Sakura.
"Are you alright?"
She snorted at him. "You leave me alone for almost a week, you didn't say where you were going or when you were coming back and you never even called me... Yes, I'm just peachy!" Sakura glared at Sasori, obviosuly pissed.
If he was stunned or hurt by her sudden out burst, it didn't show in his features. He looked away from her and began to slowly walk around the living room. "I apologize," he said as he picked a picture off the mantle of her and examined it. His other hand remained firmly in his pocket.
She looked at him, now sad. "Just tell me why you didn't say anything... Don't you understand it's hurting me when you're this secretive?" She walked up to Sasori and looked up at him with tears in her eyes.
He looked at the picture and then tilted it down slightly to find Sakura looking at him. He could see the tears forming. Sasori placed the picture back in its spot as his brow furrowed and he bit at his lip once again. "I...don't really know."
He reached his hand out to touch her cheek. He didn't like seeing her this upset.
Sakura bit her lip so hard that she managed to draw blood, but she didn't even notice as her tears started falling. "I...missed...you...so...much.." she managed to get out between sobs, hiding her face in her hands.
When she started crying he wasn't really sure what to do. "I missed you too Sakura," he said as he gently put his arms around her. She was obviously upset with him. But, some things were hard for him to talk about.
With her face still hidden in her hands she leaned up against his chest, crying. "You have strange way of showing it, you know..."
He gently rubbed her back, not knowing what to say.
She took a deep breath and pushed him away. "I want an explanation. Now."
Sasori stepped back with the shove. He momentarily looked hurt but his eyes cleared over. "I can't."
Her shoulders slumped and she suddenly looked defeated. "Why? Sasori, you say you love me but you treat me this way, it's... It hurts. It hurts like hell..." She bit her lip again and flinched a little when it hurt.
He noticed she was bleeding a little and gently wiped the side of her mouth. "I do love you Sakura." He paused and rested his hands on her shoulders. "There are just some things I can't talk about. I had to keep a promise is all."
She threw her arms around his neck and kissed him hard. "I love you too, but if you ever do something like this again..." She leaned her head on his shoulder and sighed. "Then I can not be held responsible for my actions."
The kiss gave him a bit of relief. He sighed as he held her close to himself and gently ran his fingers through her hair. "I have something for you," he whispered.
Sakura looked up at him curiously and blinked. "A gift?" She tilted her head and gave him a lopsided smile.
He smiled at her slightly as his hand drifted back to his pocket.
"What is it?" Sakura could hardly keep her curiosity in. She shifted slightly.
Slowly he pulled his hand from his pocket but whatever the item was, it was concealed within his fist. "Close your eyes and hold out your hands."
"Aww... Do I have to..?" Sakura pouted but closed her eyes anyway and held out her hands expectantly.
"Yes, you do." He waited calmly for her to close her eyes and gently laid the object in across her hands. It was a beautiful white gold bracelet studded with pink sapphires and tiny white diamonds accenting each one. "You can open your eyes now."
She opened her eyes quickly and looked down at her hands. A loud gasp was heard. "Sasori! You shouldn't..! It's beautiful..." Sakura couldn't believe the beauty of the bracelet. It was absolutely wonderful.
He smiled almost sadly. "You deserve it."
She looked up at him once again with tears in her eyes. "Thank you," she said and kissed him lovingly. But then she looked more closely at him. "Why do you look so..." she frowned slightly. "So... well, at least not happy?"
He sighed closeing his eyes with the kiss. Sasori smiled at her again, but he seemed to be falseing it. "I'm happy. I'm just tired."
Sakura looked at him seriously. "Sasori, it is bad enough that you don't tell me things - but please don't lie to me."
"Well, I am tired." He reached up rubbing the bridge of his nose. "I am also happy to see the one I love." He looked at her over his hand and smiled before closeing his eyes. He then dropped his arm to his side and lifted his other arm to brush his hand through his hair.
"That bracelet means a lot to me, just as you do."
She gently stroke his cheek. "I'm happy to see you too." Sakura put on the bracelet. "If it means that much to you I appreciate it even more. You mean a lot to me too, you know you do. If you're so tired, then go to sleep. You can borrow my bed if you want to," she said and smiled.
He smiled thankful that she didn't question further. "Only if you join me." He leaned in and gently kissed her.
She wrapped her arms around his back and kissed him back. "Of course. I don't want to leave your side just yet." She let it go for now, she hoped he would tell her the real story behind the bracelet when he felt he was ready for it.
He nods at her softly. "Let's go to bed then."
She nodded and smiled at him. "To bed it is," and dragged him into her bedroom.
