can you get online at all? if not, use a thumb drive to move safari fom another machine over. go to some sort of question asking forem to ask for instructions in trying to get stuff back (first, ask your dad how he deleted stuff. if he did the secure trash empty, then its hopeless.) try to get the stuff back before doing anything. anything you do will hurt your chances of full recovery. if you can't get anythingg back, use safari to download apps like iTunes from apple. idk if you could find iChat for download, but i use Adium anyway.

go eBay on it and you could probly sell it for about the same ammount as another one on eBay. in fact, your dad did you the favor of getting your crap off before selling. though, if he hadn't done anything, you wouldn't need to sell it. you ould always go for an upgrade, since you know what you'll use it for, you can really get the best computer for you. if you were looking for a NEW one, the new iBooks will probably be here by/during summer. definatly before next school year
