Yeah, I was debating picking it up, but my hands get cramped playing regular old Mario Kart, god knows what they'd do with an attachment designed for cramping.
It eliminates a good part of what I think is fun about Guitar Hero (and Rock Band, I'm sure): "playing" the guitar. I can't see getting the same feel out of the DS at all. Just... no thank you at all. (Hell, I'm not convinced by GH: Aerosmith, the DS version isn't going to cut it for sure.)
I guess that means I'm the only one who will pick it up, try it once, get laughed at by people cosplaying as gender-indifferent Gaara at PAX, and stick it in a corner to gather dust while Korg DS-10 and Band Brothers DX get all the love, eh?
It doesn't seem so bad. The commercials would make everything from touch-screen gaming to having ears seem like a bad idea, though. People seem to like Jam Sessions well enough, and this is basically Jam Sessions with a funky peripheral.
It's just... not Guitar Hero. They can fake it, pretend it is, but it's not. My DS would never fool anyone into thinking it was a guitar. :) I do admit I've not looked at a playlist so I'm not tempted to get it because of some songs I might like.
Ugh, whenever I think about playing it my face scrunches up like I just bit into a chocolate-covered bacon and jalapeno chew.
