Several things have conspired together to make me a generally bloody grumpy Scorpionchild today...

Firstly, I woke up with a cold. Streaming, sneezing, coughing... the works. I am NOT amused. I am hot, stuffed up and damned uncomfortable with a nose that keeps steadily dripping like Chinese Water Torture...

Then I also discover I have a coldsore

No blaming yourself for this- that's not allowed.

It's really just my fault - I just allowed myself the tiniest bit of hope that things might go well for me- I shouldn't be so worked up about it, it's just with the job and everything else...

Things *will* get better - for both of us - probably just about one nanosecond after we give up entirely!

And viz the job thing... you still going to go up to the City and sign up with agencies there? I think you should... although maybe leave it until Monday. Give yourself a bit of space to clarify and calm down first.

If you're stuck, and going on the right day (Thursday, I think, but I'll have to check), we can prolly squeeze you into the car from Cambridge - I can either pick you up at some vaguely mutually sensible point, or just drive through York on our way in...

Sorry I'm being crap about replying to comments at the moment - no time, no time! :-) - hopefully, one of these damn projects will be done by the end of next week and I'll be able to actually start communicating with people again ..

Thanks for the offer... but it isn't that simple I'm afraid... I am going with a friend of mine from New York, so there would be two of us anyway, plus luggage. Also we are almost definitely going on the Wednesday, so no good on that score either :o(

No problem about the lack of responsiveness on your part of late - I know how it is when things get busy!! I'll look forward to hearing more from you in due course though, and (regardless of transport) we shall definitely have to meet at WGW this time :o)
