It's too damn hot. . . .

Started the week with car woes. Whatever was causing the rough idle after my 40,000 mile check-up, finally blew up. Another $1600 later, I have new coils, a new water pump, and some kind of timing chain. I'm over it. The car runs perfectly again and as I was reminded yesterday, it's a 2003 that has been virtually trouble-free until now.

School continues. Some of the huge classes will not. Thankfully, it looks like we're going to pick up three new sections in English. Unfortunately, only one of my classes will be affected. It's at 42, so yes, I'm relieved. However, my sophomore sections are all at 40 and that's not going to change so I'm consoling myself by remembering that two of them will disappear down the student teacher hole after Christmas. Until then, I'll just keep my head down and make it happen.

I haven't watched the newest Vampire Diaries or the Warehouse 13 season finale yet, but I did see NCIS and will need another viewing before I weigh in. Something about it bothered me and I'm not quite sure what it was. I may also be joining topaz119. I wanted to love GLEE more than I do. The only character that has my attention without being annoying is the boy from the glee club who joined the football team, and I can't imagine that they'll be spending a lot of time on him.

On a more positive note, FlashForward did more than enough to keep me watching. And even though I know in my heart that it's not him in the final frame, I love the buzz it generated.

My new favorite Adam pic:

It's not new, but wowsers.

File under: Late to the party--I just this week discovered KeepVid.com and am busy clogging my hard drive with YouTube vids of pre-Idol Adam at the Upright Cabaret, especially this one and this one. They've both been online for a while and may stay there forever, but the sudden disappearance of all the AI Tour videos made me break out in a cold sweat.

The heat wave is supposed to end on Monday, but for now, another day of hiding indoors.

Did I mention that it's a three day weekend in our district? One more reason to love being a teacher. Beyond June, July, and August, that is. Happy weekend all.
