You gave us more insight in Katie's feelings. And shown us that Reid has feelings. About something or someone. I was sad to see him walk out like that.
Maybe next time we will find out what he can't do.
What can't he do? Reid??? That was a very intimate gesture, and then he's gone. He can't do what? Can't be himself, maybe? Has Reid been in hiding of his true self his whole life? If Reid is in the closet, Luke might be the one to teach him the ways of man on man love, and that thought makes me all giddy. Oh, but then it would be sad too because it would hurt Katie.
This chapter is lovely. There is so much love in this family and of course, a load of relief at Ravi's successful surgery. I understand Luke's feelings, and being emotional after going through a surgical ordeal. And of course Luke is wondering how he'll find a place in Ravi's life, and Reid is understandably worried that Luke will try to assert his parental rights.
I love this story and can't wait to read the next update. :)
So... I wiped my tears. And I raised my glass of hot chocolate (stuffed with marshmellows and a mini milky way - as good as it gets, the cold night's version of champagne...) and then there was that wonderful moment in the hospital, "when Luke smiled in tears and Reid smiled his crooked one and Damian just watched, noticed, apperceived and completed his internal checklist." And then... And then... you build it up and up until Reid says he 'can't do this'. Well - there goes my chocolate-high ;)
Perplex, like Luke. But with a soft smile and a lot of faith. I'm not in a hurry, dear, I'm enjoying this way too much. Take your time, take it slow, no need to rush - I'll be here <3

when I drink champagne I'm suffering from nettle rash... so I d know a lot of substitutes too :) My favorite: dark hot chocolate with a pinch of coriander!
About your disappointment: It gets better, promise!
'disappointment' is not a word I want to see up here, esp. not as in 'your [= my] disappointment' *takes out red pencil and resolutely crosses that word*
And... *raises eyebrow* ... when did 'perplex' become a synonym for that crossed word?
Hmmm???? *puts hands on hips*
;) Sorry - Moon has test-week at school and things are not going great....
I'll leave you to it, Scotia, but, really - this is so good already, how can it possibly get any better?!?!?!

One thing that intrigued me was the bit of info about DD and mother Oliver. That must play into Liath's story at some point.
And of course the last part with Reid, what was that about?????
You weave an intricate tale and I am loving every minute of it.
