Manhattan is amazing and I've spent my life in it's shadow, so I can pretty much fend for myself if you drop me blindfolded in the middle of DUMBO or even the financial district. But honestly-- just use common sense. You'll be fine.

I've heard its good. Yeah most of this was common sense stuff, it was almost DUH! We have beggers here in Syracuse and I just walk by or say "No, sorry," and avoid sketchy people by walking briskly with my head up.
