I am incredibly sad that Capa Riga never made it into the final draft. I feel fully confident he would have turned out to be such an amazingly cool character that in the end you would not have murdered him, or if you had, he would have reappeared later with a glorious tale of derring-do that explained his fake death away.

Thanks for sharing this! I really appreciate getting to hear a bit about your process, in particular how the Gentlemen Bastards and Capa Barsavi evolved. I think I'll re-read Lies now.

It's really interesting to see how your ideas evolved over time. I'm so glad that Father Chains ended up the way he did; I'm really enjoying his character thus far.

It's so amazing to see your process and how the Frankenstein-esque bits and pieces of Camorr develop into formidable fantasy. It's almost like finding Da Vinci's teenage diary before his mirror writing phase or the maybe the sketches of Rome pre-Parthanon. Very, very cool.
