It's OK, really

Public service announcement: the latest Neal Stephenson book has a fairly proper ending.

Don't be afraid, the world's not ending.

Wow. 32 hours and 30 minutes in audio form. Kind of glad for the ending assurance.

I'm not so sure that an audiobook is a good way to go. The book has a glossary; he invents a lot of words. If they don't translate those (or otherwise change them), you'll be lost; if they do, it changes some of the connotations of what is said. Not to mention that it really helps in making sense of a lot of the dialog to look up some of the various people (mostly long dead, in the story) who have their names casually thrown around.

Not to dissuade you, really, just fair warning.
