I'm not so sure that an audiobook is a good way to go. The book has a glossary; he invents a lot of words. If they don't translate those (or otherwise change them), you'll be lost; if they do, it changes some of the connotations of what is said. Not to mention that it really helps in making sense of a lot of the dialog to look up some of the various people (mostly long dead, in the story) who have their names casually thrown around.
