I feel a bit of your pain. So far I haven't rejected any of my piercings, but I've had to fight like hell with my body to keep them. Things that were supposed to be fully healed in 8-9 months (like my nose) were still breeding random infections 18 months later. Not even my ears liked having jewelry in them.
The only piercing I've had 0 trouble with is my lip, for whatever reason. That one healed up straight away with no drama. I'm still waiting for it to develop some weird problem. d-:
well I couldnt think of a way to let it soak properly [shower only, murgle], so took it out to give it a proper clean, cleaned and it healed up before I could re-insert.
Packet of cotton wool pads. Dip that in warm salted water. Apply to both sides of piercing. Normally I like to give the piercing a little squeeze (though this hurts) to REALLY get the gunk out. Hold for a few minutes.
Repeat until no gunk is on the pad when you take it away.
Do this morning and night and the piercing should feel better in no time :P

Don't ever take healing piercings out. Let's infection in. Better off using warm water with salt (a.k.a. salt soak) to draw any nasty shit OUT.
Trooth.
