Was involved in a transgender panel at Millsaps Monday night. It was surprisingly fun and interesting though I probably weirded out a few folks with my very liberal and fluid views of attraction and gender. I may present as a man but I don't really feel like much of one most of the time. But then I don't feel like much of a woman either. I think ( Read more... )

I wish I could've been in the audience. :-) I have no doubt that you were very informative and gave some people food for thought. I remember when I was on the gay panel a few years back. I was kinda nervous beforehand, but it was a refreshing and rewarding experience just to talk openly and honestly about being me and hopefully helping some people to expand their horizons. ::big hugs:: I miss you so much, Mr. Duncan!

Miss you too Mr. Landry! I was nervous too especially since I spotted four or five people in the audience who I knew . . . and who I knew had no clue about me. So very nerve wracking but so amazingly rewarding as you said. *grin*

Actually I'm in the process of finding out more about trans groups in Charlotte and Raleigh, see if I might actually have a support group if I move there. After three years and all my Millsapsians moving out, I think it's time for a support group.

If you haven't checked it out already, here's a link for the Lesbian & Gay Community Center which, until recently, was in our neighborhood (they just moved into Uptown). They have a tab for resources, or you might want to shoot them an E-mail if you have any further questions or just want to touch base. I'll do some more research as well and see what I can find! :-)

While I've been unsure of binary gender expression, living here has opened me up to the possibilities of being neither gender, all genders, i.e. genderfucking or being genderqueer. I'm glad to be a fierce advocate for you, sugar. I'm glad you're out there talking about it. *HUGS*

I am very proud of you.

You can be a fierce advocate for me anytime sweetie!

Its really the first time I've ever talked about trans-issues to a group of strangers before. It felt great. Hell, it still feels great.

PS - Just read on your journal you're getting your chest surgery soon. Huge congrats!
