This one is for the dance music fans out there...

Why are most house fans (deep, funky, tech whatever) usually total snobs when it comes to other forms of electronic dance music...

Any theories? Any house heads out there wanna chime in on why (or why not) you hate trance, techno, DnB etc...

I am not a music snob and all of my electroclash friends laugh at me for listening to trance, and all of my synth-pop friends laugh at me for listening to house, and vice versa. Meanwhile, i listen to a ton of NON-electronic stuff and none of them berate me for that. I think it's because people who actually know the music know how different electronica sub-genres really are, and get pissy when the ignorant shlump them all together, so they act really elitist to distance themselves from the "lesser" music scenes. And blah blah blah blah I'm procrastinating.

because i dont hate any of those, myself...

i hjus tlike house the most--you will see me out dancing to any of them though!!!

i see genre haters all across the board, there will always be haters! The trick is not to be one ourselves

Well thats why i said most house heads...

Me...I just want to dance...i find that house moves me the most with some nice atmospheric DnB coming in a close second...but i really do like it all...

It just seems that since ive move to LA and even when i was still in AZ...the house music clique just loved to bash trance music and techno...I mean goto Batucada and see what those house loyalists have to say about anything that isnt their deep vocal house music...

At this point i cant even remember what drove me to ask this question but i really love all the responses...
