Goodbye Live Journal.

Well, it's been fun. But alas, I'm finding less and less time to blog about life stuff.

In my continuing effort to be more professional, find a job, and make something of my life, I am finally doing something productive with my domain.

My new blog can be found at scottro.com. Feel free to comment, critique, debate, praise . . . whatever. ( Read more... )

Uh, oh. I just looked over to your new blog. Can I give you some advice? Don't mix your job and your opinion. If I want your help as a tax advisor or a tech writer, I don't want to wade through politics, politics and politics, regardless how center, left or right your opinion is.

And of course, since your opinion is often extreme, you will lose potential more moderate and left leaning clients. That part isn't about logic, it's about gut feelings and emotions, which you will get going right away.

Look at the way Russ does it, strictly seperating tax and politics, with a sprinkle of politics on the tax side.

I agree. 3 blogs is better than 1 blog, even if it is more work. I have LJ, the corporate blog, and the "hidden" blog. My new goal is to post in each at least once a week.

Agreed. Shouldn't mix business with politics.

In addition, the first three sentences of your "Tax the Wind" post begin with the word "while." With sentence variation being an important part of writing, I would not expect such a rookie level of writing from someone who once was a professional at it.
