I only got 19 out of 32. What's worse is that I thought I was unsure of only 4 or 5. Lame.

Re the MS article, in all fairness it is hard to believe how badly end users can hose up their computers before asking for help. Finding layers upon layers of malware is not unusual - I see it all the time. The thing is, I think software makers are assuming that each problem will be dealt with individually, as they come along. But end users don't stop 'shoot the duck and download smileys' behaviour simply because their computer started acting funny after they did it the first time - they keep dowloading crap and clicking on bs and file sharing and all of that. Sure, Microsoft doesn't 'get it'. But I would state unequivically that most consumers don't 'get it' either. And I don't see anyone blaming Detroit for the fact that you can steer a car into oncoming traffic - nor are they being held responsible for making sure that cars are incapable of doing so.
