Interesting post, good observation. Emotions should be controlled before they cause damage. But first you have to get to the point where you are aware of what is really happening before it gets out of control.
Through meditation you can train your awareness to the bare essence of events before your emotions, preconceptions and instinctive reactions kick in and take over.
