Thank you so much! I'm thrilled you like it so.

I seem to have a permanent fixation on their relationship. ;)

lovely insight into Eliot's past. I like your take on it. The section under "the worst thing I ever did" is heartbreaking.

Thank you so much! Damien is my favorite Leverage villain, and the reveal of Eliot's history was just chocolate to me. I still just ache for Eliot every time I watch that park scene in "Big Bang Job."

This is great. I like their relationship, the way they bring out things in each other they wouldn't let others see. The description of Eliot's slow freezing over was great too.

Thank you! Damien is my favorite Leverage villain. Goran Visnjic just made him so smoothly and seductively, charmingly evil that I could see Eliot falling under his power.

Thank you for reading!

Thanks, hon! Yeah, they are definitely fascinating. What kind of man does Damien have to be to be able to persuade/convince/manipulate Eliot into doing the kinds of things he hinted at in Big Bang Job? What kind of man was Eliot then that he let Damien have that kind of power over him? And then what does it take for Eliot to break that control and walk away?

As always, thanks for reading. I'm so glad you liked this!

"In later years, he would say it was a little like freezing to death: mental clouding and confusion, then amnesia, forgetting what he'd known and been before; a creeping numbness and loss of control, of sense, of direction; then utter, absolute coldness, the death of all warmth, all sensation, in him; and, finally, brain and body dying, mistaking deadly cold for warmth, simply lying down and going to sleep, slipping into the nothing.

"Yeah. Being with Damien had been exactly like freezing to death."

So incredibly vivid. A truly awesome opening.

"And something deep in the earth shuddered."

No kidding.

It's great how the other characters' reactions do all the work toward showing how deadly and ruthless Eliot is. No need to lay down heavy threats; just show the guards holstering their guns when they recognize him.

"number of times - people - he'd killed"The mental correction here is priceless ( ... )
