oh i know, it's ridiculous. let's not provide clean pipes so that users can have one of their own, but let them share dirty ones so that HIV and Hep C can spread like wildfire! brilliant! i like drugs, but not crack, and having clean crack pipes does not glorify being a crackhead!

also, who the fuck cares what drugs are being smoked? be it crack, or meth, or fucking gasoline. these people need help, compassion and understanding. i'm not condoaning crack use. but i know that it will continue whether i want it to or not. so, let's just be responsible and forget the judgement call.

what's next? making condoms illegal because it promotes sex amoung sex trade workers? come on!

"all to save $8000...the medical care for these new HIV/Hep winners will far exceed that anyway!"

Yes. But we don't want anyone to think that the Government condones drug use...

It's better that we all know that the Government doesn't care about PEOPLE. As if addiction takes away a person's right to be safe and healthy. I can tell you that $8000 is not going to wildly improve the Drug and Alcohol Addiction Services in Ottawa. Nor will it help allay the causes of addiction; like poverty, mental, physical, and sexual abuse, and mental illness.

Ya, lets allow politicians to tell our medical officers who knows best when it comes to health! Power is wisdom afterall, right?
Wait, thats not right at all.

Gah! This makes me angry. People are incredibly stupid. This says to me "Drug addicts are not people". Those people in the paper who were yelling on the street to "Crack down on crack" don't have a fuckin' clue. It really has no effect on them until someone they know and love falls into an addiction.

Seriously... $8,000. I like the bullshit line "Chiarelli says Ottawa can now focus on getting people treatment and acquiring the facilities needed to provide that treatment.", as though $8,000 is all you need to actually run a treatment facility.

grah!
