British accents, empty fridges

Made it through my first day of work without incident. Takes me about 10 minutes and my brisk waking pace to get back to the cottage. I ate leftover Indian food, which is the only thing edible in the place other than my emergency Lara bar, some lifesavers, and my last few squares of chocolate bar with ginger.

still find it odd when the Asians have British accents.

Me too, although Asian here meaning Chinese etc., as opposed to Indian people with British accents, which is unsurprisingly less jarring.

I have no idea why, because it makes perfect sense that people of all races can grow up in the UK just as well as the US, but my brain still finds it weird.

i do for a little bit, since my housing is on the college campus. when i move to a real home, i'll have to start paying for it again.
