The gloves slipped on with little effort, covering those rough fingertips, covering the one way of proving his identity. He loved his gloves; the way they tightened almost painfully around his hands as he clenched his fists, the way they told him no, and he told them yes. He had gone through a great many pair of gloves. These were the only ones to accept the punishment he gave them, to accept the crushing confines of his hand as he broke them in.
Yes, they were his favorite pair of gloves by far. Definitely worth shopping around for; definitely worth all their trouble. He smiled pleasantly, keeping up appearances; he always kept up appearances.
At least, on the outside.

There was a long, awkward pause as he stared unrelentingly forward. He knew it made them uncomfortable; loved that it made them uncomfortable. The way they squirmed under his all-seeing stare, the way they fumbled through their words and the way they swallowed with an abundance of fear.
And he loved bringing them back, luring them in with a false sense of security. He loved to laugh, clap, smile.
They never knew he was laughing at them the whole time; even with his face straight.
Daman Gant was always laughing.
