i lost my job today! we are boxing everything up, sending all of it to other stores and to our corporate headquarters, and then that chapter in my life is OVER! i might file for unemployment benefits. or i might not ( Read more... )

i was told that i am not eligible for benefits if i am a full-time student. which is BULLSHIT and makes NO SENSE WHATSOEVER, but we'll see.

it actually makes complete sense.

A full-time student who carries 12 or more units requires a considerable amount of time for study outside of class hours. As the number of study hours is increased, the number of hours for either work or work search is decreased. The number of semester units the claimant is carrying should be considered in relation to the time that the student has available for seeking work, and as an indicator of whether the student's primary interest is in school or work.

However - you can probably just lie and no one is going to ask your to substantiate because they are understaffed and overworked
