What's left:

1/2 c corn salsa
1 bunch celery
2 dill pickles
4 sweet pickles
1 1/2 c orange juice
2 peppermint patties

None of that stuff can really be combined to make a meal, but wow, I'm so sick of rice that I don't think I'll have any for quite a while.

Thoughts I've had since starting this project:

1. I have been hoarding food. That was a lot more food than I needed. I didn't realize how much I had until I stopped adding to it and tried to finish it off. I was buying frozen vegetables, bulk grains, and stuff I thought would be fun to try at some unspecified point in the future. Unnecessary. I've had too much of a lot of things, not just food, and it's fun to try to use things I have instead of collecting incessantly and ending up with stores of supplies that I imagine would come in handy someday.

2. I've been eating the same things over and over. Trying to combine random things into meals reminded me that experimentation can lead to fun discoveries. The best thing I made that I'd never have tried was flourless banana-oatmeal cookies.

3. Cut your losses. Don't keep things around that you don't like. I'm not sorry I didn't eat that sausage ball soup. Find a way to get rid of things without being wasteful.

4. I am privileged and blessed to have so much that I can choose not to buy groceries and still eat for weeks.
