1. Describe your personality in five words: intelligent, unconventional, melancholy, sarcastic, sensitive
2. Good points?: I'm uncompromisingly smart, insightful. Imaginative. I have a lot of self-integrity. I'm very unconventional and independent; I can think totally for myself. I have great taste, and I'm a very aesthetic person. I'm creative, a talented writer. I'm sympathetic where people ordinarily wouldn't, and very kind in some ways - again, not necessarily intuitively. I'm not really high-maintenance, I don't require a lot from people and try not to burden them, but I kill anything lame and distasteful in my mind that comes before me. I'm both passionate and reasonable. I'm deep and live in the details, I react thoroughly to things (maybe over-think).
3. Bad points?: Selfish, distant, arrogant. I'm oddly uncaring about a lot of things, like dead babies or family illnesses. I don't react in expected, maybe healthy ways, I guess? I'm also extremely shy, anxious, fearful, and obsessive-compulsive about things. My judgment can be harsh and rigid; like, I'm intolerant of other tastes and opinions that are different from mine. I tend to be egocentric, but that's also part of my independence, I think.
4. What do you like to do? Like, what are your ideal activities?: I love reading and writing (well, that's a love/hate relationship), and I'm into all things artistic and creative. I like going to concerts, plays, artistic events, and the like. I really like being interested in things, and having obsessions. I love being with my boyfriend, he's the only person I really feel fully comfortable with. I'm not much into sports, but I do like swimming. I'm not an "outdoorsy" person, but I kind of like being outside, in beautiful natural settings, running through the grass or being by the water or something.
5. What would your ideal lifestyle be like?: I'd surround myself with interesting people that I can actually relate to, art, beauty, culture, and do a lot of interesting stuff like go to shows, visit castles, etc., stuff I've always wanted to do but couldn't. I'd write for a living. I'd have a lot of money, or enough to be comfortable. I'd always be in love. Romance is very important to me, and not living frivolously; but not rigidly, either, in short, living with personality and quirkiness instead of like some conventional zombie.
6. What are some of your interests and talents?: reading, writing, art, movies, music, cats, old and vintage stuff, dark, odd, and macabre bits of history/things, alternative fashion, etc. I'm not good at creating things with my hands, but I admire nifty crafts.
7. What is your biggest goal in life?: To live deep and happy. I'm a really "unsatisfied" person (not in a bratty way), I've always been unsatisfied with myself and my life, so that would be a big thing to actually be content with it.
8. What's one of your worst fears?: extreme physical pain. Also illness, both physical and mental.
9. Are you more into fame or fortune?: fame
10. Popularity or approval from a small circle of people you admire?: approval from a small circle
11. What are some of your favorite movies?: Solaris, Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, Requiem for a Dream, Pandora's Box, Lust, Caution
12. What music do you listen to? List some bands/musicians: I listen to alternative, dark cabaret, and electronic music, and a lot of the stuff I like is really unclassifiable. Rasputina, The Dresden Dolls, Switchblade Symphony, Nine Inch Nails, The Birthday Massacre.
13. Favorite books?: Mrs. Dalloway by Virginia Woolf (I love her), The Great Gatsby by F. Scott Fitzgerald, Heart of Darkness by Joseph Conrad, Coraline by Neil Gaiman, Three Lives by Gertrude Stein
14. Paste/link a poem or lyrics you like here, maybe that describes you somehow:
I have done it again.
One year in every ten
I manage it--

A sort of walking miracle, my skin
Bright as a Nazi lampshade,
My right foot

A paperweight,
My face a featureless, fine
Jew linen.

Peel off the napkin
O my enemy.
Do I terrify?--

The nose, the eye pits, the full set of teeth?
The sour breath
Will vanish in a day.

Soon, soon the flesh
The grave cave ate will be
At home on me

And I a smiling woman.
I am only thirty.
And like the cat I have nine times to die.

This is Number Three.
What a trash
To annihilate each decade.

What a million filaments.
The peanut-crunching crowd
Shoves in to see

Them unwrap me hand and foot--
The big strip tease.
Gentlemen, ladies

These are my hands
My knees.
I may be skin and bone,

Nevertheless, I am the same, identical woman.
The first time it happened I was ten.
It was an accident.

The second time I meant
To last it out and not come back at all.
I rocked shut

As a seashell.
They had to call and call
And pick the worms off me like sticky pearls.

Dying
Is an art, like everything else.
I do it exceptionally well.
- from "Lady Lazarus," Sylvia Plath
15. What's a quote you like?:
"The beauty of the world has two edges, one of laughter, one of anguish, cutting us asunder."
- Virginia Woolf
16. Go here. Take a look through the quotes. Put down your favorite one here, or another one related to acting/film:
"She has run through my life like a magnetic thread... She is a prairie princess, equally at home in a waterfront bar and in the royal suite at Neuschwanstein; a creature of impulse...a temptress with no pretensions, capable of dissolving into a giggling fit at a peak of erotic ecstasy...with that sleek jet cloche of hair that rings such a peal of bells in my subconscious."
- Kenneth Tynan
17. Make up a stage name for yourself (ex. Dita Von Teese, Darla Teagarden): Valentine Vivian
18. (Not to be morbid) but what would the epitaph on your gravestone say?: "She lived, she died. Now here she lies." Nah, just kidding, it'd be something poetic and deep and expressive of my life, like "I went to the woods because I wanted to live deliberately. I wanted to live deep and suck out all the marrow of life." (That's Thoreau)
19. What's your fashion sense like?: It's kind of alternative, goth-inspired. I like wearing a lot of different things, layering things, and putting together outfits. I don't dress casually, my clothes have interesting, diverse, and crazy cuts. And a lot of trims. I wear a lot of black, but also many different colors, including really bright ones, neon pink, lime green, etc. I like contrasts, lace with grommets, ruffles with zippers, etc., and I don't like being pinned down to a single style, or being unsubtle. I like elegance. I wear a variety of styles, just not totally within the mainstream.
20. What's your favorite item of clothing? Any reason why?: Dresses. I just love them for some reason, maybe because they're a single piece that can be so interesting and different. Feminine, flattering, and there's so much you can do with them, basically endless styles.
21. Sum up your looks in five descriptive words (ex. unconventionally beautiful, huge blue eyes): petite, round-faced, alternative, long-haired, sloe-eyed
Uh, this is kind of hard to put into a few words, but I have kind of dark eyes and full lips that are noticeable and give a bolder look to my dumpy, childish face. And I'm pretty thin and small, but kind of curvy at the same time.
22. Who's an actress you relate to somehow? Why? (Voters, DON'T just vote for this actress if she's on the list): Louise Brooks. I think we're a lot similar in our opinions and general personality traits. She's intelligent, literary, and witty, like me, she has cutting yet truthful criticisms of people, she's oddly honest, free-spirited, kind of a loner at heart, and fashionable. She doesn't rely on anyone else, she didn't expect to be saved by friends, success, or lovers. She's an uninhibited hedonist, and I'm pretty much the opposite, but we still connect in some way.
23. If you got into acting, what would you do it for?: Because I'm so into films and acting. I love the idea of being in a movie and acting the part of someone else but playing out my own personality at the same time, and really emoting - like if you were to be captured at different emotional moments of your life. I would do it to express myself, and yeah, it'd be nice to be known, to be a screen personality.
