i cried. for the first time in a long time, i cried. i received an acceptance letter today for fsu, my mother told me that if i hadn't gotten one i was stupid. my mom never encourages me, she always finds something to make me feel bad. she thinks i waste too much time at school for martial arts club and she thinks i party all the time. she thinks ( Read more... )

Cmon now David. We cannot ruin such a great occasion. You got into FSU, just like you wanted. Listen ignore your mother right now okay. Know the truth, be real, know that you're happy and feed off of that.
You are achieving your dream, who cares what she says about that. David it is your life, if it was her's then she would have had to correct my horseriding stance at martial arts, but you did.
You are a great, hard-working guy, especially more than me, and you got into the school you wanted to. I'm sure you'll do fine, enjoy this moment, you earned it man. Congratulations.

david, you are so intelligent and from what i hear you are awesome at karate. and you like good music, and you PLAY good music, and you're an all-around nice, cool guy. i know that parents can be rough, and your mom sounds like she's rougher than most; but you're gonna kick ass whatever you do. maybe you need to just think "fuck you" everytime your mom starts bitching. it's hard to think that about your parents; and i know you want to impress her, for once, but God knows if you haven't impressed her yet then she's a fucking moron.

Yea well she'll be a thing of the past soon enough when you are in college. You don't hafta go home, you know. *tells self*. Good job getting in to FSU David! You better be going there for the music program because else, if you're staying in Florida, you better go to UF with me (assuming I go there, which is most likely).

that's not the fuckin david I know don't pull that shit. so what if your mom thinks all that shit. from a fellow asian to asian I think we share the common bond of having the most cut throat parents ever. but I've managed to make them see it my ways and believe that whereever I go in college it's fine because I can do well no matter what.
