Notes: Reworked it from a Chinen x OC fic I did a few days ago so I can post it here :)
Summary: Apart yet together. Thank you technology.
Seated at the special area for celebrities watching in the concert, Chinen Yuuri was bouncing up and down on his seat. He could barely contain the excitement he felt, for it has been a year since he last watched an Arashi concert live.
"I wonder what songs would be in it this time," he said to nobody in particular. Yuto, his default partner in going to Arashi concerts, looked around and laughed lightly.
"Calm down, you'll find out soon," he said. Chinen looked at him with an expression that said 'how does a fan calm down before a concert starts', and Yuto laughed a little louder this time.
"I'm no match for you when you're on scary fan mode," he said.
"Because I'm more charming when I'm like this ne?" Chinen quipped.
"Maa, I guess so. You're Chinen Yuuri after all," Yuto replied with a smile.
"And anyone's arguments therefore made invalid," the other replied with an impish grin.
"Except your sister, maybe," Yuto said after a moment.
"She agrees with me," Chinen said. Yuto gave him a look. "Okay, most of the time. But her friends say I'm the most charming person from the Chinen household!"
"If I really know you, then you really care for just one friend's particular opinion..." Yuto said teasingly.
"What are you talking about?" Chinen asked in confusion.
"Nothing. Speaking of your sister, isn't she watching the concert too?" Yuto said, smoothly changing the topic.
"Ah, yeah. We planned to watch it together with my mom but my mom got busy and watching with my sister..."
"It's kinda hard to explain."
"Yeah. And I don't want her to be stressed just to get a chance to watch the concert. She entered the fanclub ballot and got in just fine. She even paid for the ticket even if I told her I could just get one from the jimusho. She told me it'll be unfair to the other fans, and she doesn't like me treating her too much," Chinen said with a pout.
"It's a fan's pride... you didn't have to worry about her in the first place, then. Besides, you're the younger sibling here; I'm sure Saaya nee-san will be fine," Yuto said, smiling.
"Yeah. She said she's watching with her friends. We'll meet outside Kokoritsu and go home the rest of the way together," Chinen replied, smiling.
"Friends...?" Yuto asked, trying not to sound too mischievous. Chinen noticed, however, and smirked.
"Will you wipe that grin off your face? She said school friends." he said gruffly,
"Who knows, maybe 'your special friend' is with her too," he said slyly. Chinen hit him on the arm with his penlight in response.
"Shut up."
"Ow! That hurt you know!"
"You have muscles, don't be such a wimp."
Yuto was about to reply, but the lights have gone down. The concert was starting.
A different color of light came from Chinen's pocket, blindingly bright compared to the soft orange glow of the penlights. He retrieved his phone and almost dropped it in surprise when he saw who it was from.

I'm watching Arashi-san's concert with Saaya-chan! She won two tickets and asked me to join her~ Are you still not done with filming? Ganbatte ne~
Ignoring the smirk on Yuto's face, Chinen selected her name from his speed dial list and dialled her number. She picked up her phone on the second ring.
"Chinen-kun?" she said, sounding surprised.
"I'm watching the concerts too! I'm with Yuto though," he said, ignoring Yuto's comment of "Hey, don't make it sound like it's such a pain to be with me!".
"Saaya-chan told me you might be watching today too! Do you have good seats?"
"They're pretty good, but it'd be best if I was sitting next to you," he said rather boldly, again ignoring Yuto's wolf whistles.
"We're still seeing the same view, so it's okay," she replied, and Chinen smirked. He could almost hear the blush in her voice.
"Can you two be cheesy some other time? I want to watch this concert in peace!" a female voice that sounded like Saaya shouted from her end of the phone. Everyone laughed, Saaya even joining in reluctantly after Chinen scolded her for interrupting and they started bickering and Yuto stepped in as referee.
"I should hang up then, the concert is about to start--" she began to say.
"Wait! Don't hang up," Chinen said.
"Eh?"
"Let's watch it together this way!"
"...You're weird."
"But you're not hanging up," he said, smugly, confidently.
"It's not my phone credits I'm wasting, anyway," she answered back gruffly, embarrassedly.
They watched the concert in that manner, phones held to their ears (unless they had to wave a penlight or an uchiwa at a passing Arashi member) and they had to forget their dignity to call their attention. And when they go back they would laugh at their silliness together, retell the same jokes they've been hearing at the same time and just laughing harder because it's funnier that way.
It was the third encore, and that telltale intro of notes made him smile.
"It's your favorite song," he said, watching as Arashi took center stage. The ligths were down, spotlights trained on them. Singing with raw voices and emotions, with penlights slowly waving in a sea of orange all around them, it truly was a different concert from what fans usually see. But it was the five of them, and they were in that spotlight and they were singing their song.
It was a beautiful moment.
His voice suddenly came from the phone, and she pressed it closer to her ear to hear what she was saying. And as she listened closer, and then she realized he was actually singing.

"....I like how Ohno-kun sings it..." she said in a small voice.
"...actually, I prefer him too..." he said softly.
"But Chinen-kun's version is nice too. Special, even."
"You're just being nice."
"No I'm being your girl--never mind."
"What? My girlfriend? But you are."
"I thought we don't need titles?"
"...it was nice to hear."
They smiled as Arashi waved to the crowd, said thank you, and it was over. They stood still as the crowd started moving towards the exit.
"I'm glad."
