People: Well, basically Chinen and Arashi. And whoever wants to join in. My brain welcomes you.
Notes:
yatsuiko_chan is my muse or something. I'm currently chatting with her. Things get a little bitor a lot dangerous when we talk there. NOVELS are born. But we're lazy so yeah xD Inspiration came from Duet August 2011 translation found in
chinenpuccino.
Summary: Some Arashi members get a little bit confused. What could be that hidden conversation we'd all like to hear?
A day sometime in September, in a certain studio in Tokyo.
"Hai minna, yoroshiku onegaishimasu~" a staff called out. It was a rare opportunity, all five members having a group photo shoot for Duet once again. Ever since, they have only been appearing when they have to promote their individual projects. The closest was having the staff go to the taping of their shows and get behind the scene photographs. Soon everyone was slipping back to the usual routine that they have in photo shoots. One of the photographers have entrusted Sho with a tape recorder once again, and with a face that said he wanted to do something else otherwise, he took up his reporter role once again and began interviewing his fellow members.
Soon they were done with the questions they have to go through. Sho was about to click the recorder shut when his phone rings. The other four members look at each other mischievously when they saw him blush upon seeing the caller's name on his phone.
"Moshi moshi, Keik-- Ojou-sama? Huh? They're asking about me? Then tell them I'm cool or something." He catches the eyes of his other groupmates and puts a finger to his lips, the tips of his ears the same shade of beet red as his face.
"Kageyama-shitsuji is quite the ladies' man ne~" Aiba said with his trademark laugh. The other guys laughed in agreement, wolf whistles emerging from each of them. Irritated, Sho turns his back to to them while saying loudly into his phone "Hai moshi moshi? Gomen ne, Ojou-sama, it's getting a bit noisy in here," he said, shooting a death glare over his shoulder to Nino, Jun, Ohno and Aiba at the end of his statement. With a laugh Jun quietly shushed them, and soon a staff member approached them and told them that Aiba's turn was up. The staff was going on about how "it's tamed" and "there's a zoo keeper on set" and "there is an ambulance ready just in case", but all he could think about was how hard for it to regrow a missing finger or two, or possibly a whole arm. Or if it was even possible.
And of course, that little baby tiger that he was about to have a photo shoot with. Why the other members get the normal animals one would usually have for pets, he had no idea.
"Duet must have some kind of grudge on me..." he muttered quietly to himself before putting on a bright grin and hoping that he can go back to his members in one piece.
Meanwhile the other members were finding their own means to while away the time before their turn came up. Jun was reading yet another book, while Ohno had his mouth open and was staring off into space again, probably thinking of his catch the other day. Sho was still speaking to his enigmatic "Ojou-sama" on the phone, and while Nino had his script for a drama open on his lap, he was reading one of the past issues of Duet. The August 2011 issue, to be exact. He had a frown on his face, reading a regular column by two of his kouhai in the jimusho. The theme for the month is "Encounter" and they were talking about their fated meetings that changed their lives. His eyebrows hitched up when he came across one familiar name.
"But for me, my encounter with Matsumoto Jun is the most striking...?" he slowly read to himself.
"What is it?" Jun said, making Nino realize that he was reading the last part aloud. He tried to stuff the magazine out of sight but Jun was too quick for him. All he could do was cover his face from embarrassment.
"...ah, I remember this..." Jun said, giving the magazine back to Nino with a small, unmistakable smirk on his face.
"What are you smiling all about?" he asked in a surly tone.
"Why are you getting all jealous about?" Jun asked Nino, his eyes bright with mischief.
"...Betsuni..." Nino answered noncommitally.
"You are so obvious sometimes, Nino. Will you always keep forgetting that you asked me to ask Chinen for you if he wanted to go watch our concert that day?" Jun said, Nino's blush making him pat his head like a kid. A sound came from behind them and they turned to find Ohno standing there, looking as if he just woke up.
Ohno is standing by the side scratching is tousled bed hair head and says "Are...? Isn't Chinen-kun supposed to be my fan...?" upon hearing the two younger members talking. Nino grits his teeth and says nothing as Jun bust into a huge fit of laughter. Aiba returned from his photo session with a rip in his jeans that was not supposed to be there and was looking confusedly at his fellow members, clueless about what was going on.
Meanwhile, Sho smiles to himself and goes back to his phone conversation "Demo Ojou-sama, I should pick you up. It would be bad if reporters would see..."
The long-forgotten tape recorder clicks itself to a stop, managing to record the whole of Arashi's conversation. The photo shoot ends and everyone goes on with their next scheduled job.
Later, one staff member was laughing as she was listening to the tape recorder's contents; what was supposed to be a normal interview can turn out to be a fan's national treasure. She set her alarm clock early the next day so she can make an errand to the nearest electronics store. The management wouldn't surely notice if he simply replaced the tape recorder.
