You don't know me, but you made a post to bad service, and I saw Marigny in the post and realized you were in NO. Then I started reading your Journal and found this post.
I understand exactly how you feel about New Orleans. It is how I feel. I want with everything in me to live there. I will make sure in the next 10 years it happens, one way or another! It feels like home even though I have never been there. The scariness does nothing to deter me. It just feels right.
Thank you for this entry. I don't feel quite so strange!
If it feels like home, it is home. I feel like I waited much too long to finally just come home. Don't wait if you can help it.
I came for a little local music festival in the bywater, in may. I went back to NH, put the house on the market, quit my job, got on craigslist and found an apartment in the bywater, loaded up everything I could fit into the car, sold the rest, and was back home in New Orleans by July.
You're not strange :) The city takes her lovers, and once she's taken you....your heart is hers.

I just feel it in my bones, New Orleans is home. Thank you!
