Time for an opinions poll, kiddies.

I posted this the other day in the bad service community. I was instantly inundated with over 200 comments telling me what an entitlement bitch I am. How passive aggressive i am. What a terrible customer I was. How much I totally suck and how rude and abrasive this post is. I've also been told that my friends must all be extreme assholes if they're ( Read more... )

What was the last snarky comment that you cut?

Well I'm trying to see if the 200+ "You are the worlds worst entitlement bitch EVER!!" comments are due to the post itself, or the comment. I don't want to contaminate the post until I get an opinion on it.

But it was "I know this should be behind a cut, but at the moment it's just not working. I know it's a little long and I'm sorry.
We're all just going to have to use our coping skills."

I think it's a little of both.

Mostly, the last comment. Never a good idea to tell a community of snarkers to cope. It just begs for snark.

And for the record...Wank is a generic way of saying Stupidity, dumbness, idiocy, mess, trouble, confusion etc...

And it probably wouldn't have been even 1/10th as bad if you had just deleted the last part, not mentioned it. Deleted the first couple of comments and let it go.
You added to the fire like gasoline. :)

I just got to the last comment you posted.
Now you are just throwing rocket fuel on the fire.
Are you actually TRYING to make everyone mad? I am not being mean, but I am seeing you adding fuel to the fire by the bucket-full. Like the need for the last word is more important that being right or wrong.
Just my 1.5 cents.
You know I adore you..But this may be one case where deleting your post is the best course of action. Taking the high road and letting them get that last word in won't kill you.

That's the entire original post, except for one comment I had put on th end, making fun of the etiquette nazi's who were going to jump on me because it wasn't behind a cut. I said the above comment about it not being behind a cut, and then said "so we're all going to have to use our coping skills, now"

Instantly the whole post was evil, rude, abrasive and I was satan.

That one comment was all it took.

After they all ragged about the comment they then turned on the whole post. So I figured an experiment was in order. Would the post have been evil had I NOT first insulted them by suggesting they all just deal with the fact that it wasn't behind a cut?

It seems the answer is no.
