Adventures in Scanning Pictures

So I've been scanning a lot of my old artwork for Mythlore onto my computer. Some of these pictures go way back, done before I even moved out to Los Angeles. (Yeah, really making myself feel old here - sigh.) It's interesting to look at them now, some of them I go "Ummm, nope, not quite there."

Heh heh.

Yeah, I'm even now still a bit ambivalent about the color of his hair. I can be persuaded either way. Hmmm. Maybe when I color this, I should do both a "Legolas is blond" version and a "Legolas is brunette" version?

The piece you did to illustrate something I wrote is among my favourites, still.

I'm not quite sure what you mean by the bottom border. That tiled step?

Thank you! I think you mean the one of the tower build from "stones" that have the first lines of various epics in them?

When I scanned that the other night, I got a little freaked. I knew I had prepared a key for it, identifying the various epics, but it wasn't in the issue! I'd forgotten it was included in a later issue - but I eventually found it, and when I finally get around to posting them online, they'll at last be together!

I remember the fun I had doing that one, because it illustrated the metaphor Tolkien used in "The Monsters and the Critics." It's an image for any educated author -- these are the stones that raise me up so that I can see the sea! I always liked that.
