This is Kei Nishikori. He might be looking all moody and contemplative but he's probably just thinking about fried chicken. He is also one of my favourite tennis players.

Nishikori reminds me of Aiba, they are both adorably enthusiastic and love karaage.
When I first saw that picture, I was like OMG THAT'S VERBAL!!

THANK YOU! :Dd

I was just happy someone apart from me knows of his existence. His comeback is definitely going to be awesome.

I wish I still had all my prince of tennis icons. soundczech July 14 2010, 08:45:54 UTC
THIS IS RELEVANT TO MY INTERESTS. I'm dying at "hitting partner".

He's like Echizen, only more likeable. scribblyness_x July 14 2010, 12:35:50 UTC
GLAD YOU LIKED IT (that's what she said)!
\0/ My attempt at 'the humour' was conveyed.

Echizen is my favourite :( I love obnoxiousness. soundczech July 14 2010, 12:50:20 UTC
i'm picturing him staring across the net and murmuring "mada mada dane...". grand slams need more ridiculous catch phrases and dramatic music.

poor feds. maybe if he sang more SMAP songs in his spare time.

The Monkey King is my favourite. I like his brand of arrogance. scribblyness_x July 14 2010, 13:02:34 UTC
YESS, and players can't complete a move unless the spectators announces it first. There should also be 'punishments' to losers of huge tournaments, something akin to Echizen shaving Atobe's hair off. I bet if tennis originated in Japan, it would have batsu games.

Special K! I love him and his feisty game, really excited to see what he's going to accomplish. Such a shame he's been out for so long. I saw him training loads at Queens, working really hard. I also saw him being really, really sweet about posing for pictures and giving autographs. He's a good 'un.

Amazing post. I am mesmerised in a sad way by little crying Kei :(

YESS! Kei got me all excited about tennis again back in 2008 when everything about ATP seemed so redundant.

Thank you :D I was aww-ing throughout the process of making the gif.

I didn't realise he was so young. It will be interesting to see him coming back up the rankings :D

Also, he seems adorable :D
