I got a new laptop for Christmas (actually, I've been saving for months to get it, but my Christmas money meant that I could get it now). It naturally runs Windows 7 and seems to like downloading a lot of fucking important omg install these updates now or everything will be awful and shit and we'll end up with cats and dogs living together etc etc

Maybe there have just been a whole bunch of updates since it was manufactured, and it is trying to cram them in? But two hours on one seems kind of wrong.

All I know about Windows 7 is that when my university upgraded the Windows computers they had to put a sign up that said logging in on the public computers could now take up to ten minutes.
