Today I got news that my boss and friend of 20 years lost his wife to a car accident.  She had been in a coma since February, and finally passed away this week.  She was one of the sweetest, nicest people I've ever known.  I'm utterly crushed and saddened for her and especially for my friend.  It eats at me terribly to see my friends suffer.  Why

A new co-worker had a wife in a coma for almost three years before she died about a year ago. It was odd that he talked about it like it was normal and he was alright. He's talking about dating again. I can't imagine what he went through, or how he held it together with his kids.

I hope your boss and friend gets to normal soon.

As from my recent experience, if there is an opportunity to attend a memorial/funeral...GO! No expense is too great for the sense of closure.
