There was no smoke though... No sign of brake fluid either unless the hazmat/decon crews did a really good job cleaning and considering how much "powder" was left on the wall and floor, I doubt that there was any.
I suspect it was just Comet cleanser and everyone freaked for no real reason. :(
Furries freaking out over nothing?!?! Nooooooooooo! I love all of the comments floating around saying this was nothing short of terrorism. *LMAO* Oh noez! Fursecution just got realz, yo!
Yeah, those idiots who are tards' to begin with saying this is terrorism! LOL! at their stupid asses. Fursecution!!! Ooooh! Noes! Just tards being tards. Wonder if this MFF will be back at this hotel next year?
I'm sure it will be determined what chemical it actually was. Given how strong the smell was reported to me, I'm guessing pool chlorination powder.
Maybe it was supposed to be a 'prank' for the lulz, but the fact of the matter is people went to the hospital (probably more for panic in most cases than because of exposure to whatever this was.) It's not funny and could carry some very serious consequences. Had the idiot who did the smoke bomb several years ago been caught, they would have found out just how unfunny the authorities thought that was.
As sad as it might be for said idiot, I hope they catch them, charge them, and make an example of them. "Oh you thought it was funny tossing a hazardous chemical around the fire escape stairwell in a packed hotel? Well here's 5 years in prison to think about just how funny it was." Given the charges that could be filed, 5 years would be light. Maybe others would think a little more before doing something like this with an example like that to be pointed at.
That was not a smoke bomb. That was pure cholorine powder, turned into a gaseous form, in a stairwell at 2 AM in a hotel full of 5000 people. It wasn't a "prank", it was a mass casualty incident. The 19 people who were hospitalized REALLY NEEDED TO BE hospitalized, and there were an additional 20 to 50 who were coughing up sputum and vomiting that just got deemed "walking wounded" and didn't need to be hospitalized. They were monitored and sent on their way to evac1 or evac2.
It wasn't a "bad smell", it was a burning lungs on fire eyes blacked out to the point of people passing out multiple floors away smell.
It needs to be treated as the attack it was, not as some childish little game.
