That's a great way to look at it. Because inside, I totally feel like I'm still in my 20s. In that, I think I am really fortunate. I look around me at the other men my age, and every one of them look and act like broken down, pissed off, bitter old men. Thank doG I haven't become like them yet... and I pray I never do.

Lol in some ways i'm like that. I'm pretty bitter that i couldn't go to a university with a meteorology program. Yeah, i didn't exactly get to choose where i went to college (my parents gave me 2 choices: the college i go to or community college, not to diss the latter) so i also feel like some of my adult life has been predetermined for me.

My condolences. Being 61 now, I only celebrate surviving another year, not the birthdays themselves, which only remind me of how ever-more-rapidly I am growing old. And if you think the years pass quickly now, you ain't seen nothin' yet. Your fifties will be over before you even get used to being in your fifties. I'm really trying not to be glum here, but this is all birthdays mean to me now, and there's nothing 'happy' about the feeling at all.
