I've been thinking about moving out of the Bay Area and possibility moving to LA. Nothing is set in stone at all, I've just been thinking about it. I feel like I've done a lot here in the Bay but I really don't see a lot of overall opportunities for me here anymore. There's still stuff I'd like to do here, but once I do that other stuff, then what

A change of scenery can be really good for a person. You've lived in the bay area for quite a while now, and living in another city, even if it's only for a couple of years, can be a good life adventure to help get your head straight or help you figure out life a little better.

I learned a tremendous amount about politics, philosophy, life, independence, liberalism, the homeless, hippies, drugs, public transportation, etc. by simply getting out of my city and moving to another for a few years.

If you were interested in moving sooner, rather than later, there are a lot of people I know who have rooms for rent either now or in the near future (myself included, but you could choose one of my friends instead and I wouldn't be hurt).

That'd be really cool! However the main thing is just having the money to make the trip, also getting my stuff down there, and fixing up my car so it can make the trip cause right now I'm afraid to even try to drive it for 3 hours straight.

You could be very minimalist...pack a few suitcases of essentials and then take the bus down here.

yeah, i mean, i don't particularly like la and i'm really excited to go back, but i'm glad i made the move in the first place. it just helps to put things in perspective and give you a different view on life. the bay is like a sanctuary to me, but i feel like i grew up with a very one-sided view of the world. i'm really happy to return to that, but i feel like i've grown quiet a bit, and am now a better person by moving away. i say go for it!
