Next time you're in the AGO you should check out that side gallery on the main floor (to the left of the entrance I believe) that has all these miniature sculptures and carvings. Mostly religious icons but with incredible detail, it's just fascinating to peer at. Plus even on busy days it's usually not crowded.
Yes! Actually I did see a bit of that, and they *are* amazing, especially the small room where they show the research being done in that area. I don't understand how artists with such tiny tools and patience can carve out tiny little branches of tiny little trees and not have those branches break off. The whole place was pretty crowded, though -- folks like me taking advantage of free Wednesday evenings. :D
