The weather up here is, amazingly, not as harsh as you might think. The wind doesn't howl in Arctic gales; there's usually just enough to make small drifts. The temperature stays below freezing, though not so far as to make icicles form in one's nostrils upon stepping out the door. But what we do have is snow

Well, I suppose that's true. But with my luck, they'd turn out to be adorable little mice with red ribbons around their necks. And they'd regard me less as a feudal overlord and more as a sad, lonely man who needed to learn the True Meaning Of... well, you know.

Not that I've seen. I'm sure if I asked I'd be told it's "elf magic," but I'm inclined to credit somebody making sure there's plenty of d-CON around the reindeer stable stockroom.
