#2Son comes in, turns on the lights in the bathroom, and starts examining his throat in the mirror. "Mom, come look at my sore throat." Oh, goody. Exudative pharyngitis, indicative of either strep or mono. "I was up all night, it hurt so bad." *sigh ( Read more... )

Dude. Nobody ever gave me Percocets when I had strep throat. And I had it all the time until I hit eighteen and went to college. :-p

Don't wanna remember that pain, tho. Oh no no no. :(

I gave him the Percocets, because SH gets scrips for things after procedures and then never takes any. So we hide them in a secret hidey hole for emergencies. #2Son said they didn't help much but they made him hallucinate. Not sure if that last was a plus or a minus. lol Also, his throat isn't better yet. We may be making a trip to the family doc today. *sigh*

I hope #2Son feels better soon. Sore throats are so aggravating, aren't they? Mr. Virgata wound up with a scrip for Tamiflu last night, so I send a big collective GET BETTER to all the sickies.

Oddly, he's not feeling better yet. I figure 36 hours of atbs should have made a difference by now. I'm off work today so we may be visiting our doc. :(

Is the Tamiflu helping? I understand that it has to be started very soon after onset of symptoms, at which point most people haven't even thought about going to the doctor. I'm curious. Hugs to Mr. Virgata and get well soon!

Dammit! This accidentally ended up in my spam folder. Anyway, the Tamiflu didn't seem to do much. I think we've all three (sans VirgataGirl) got parvovirus.
