So, I hate how people exaggerate college. What I mean is, I hate how people exaggerate the "going-away-ness" of college.

So I finally did the math to prove it once and for all.

This is from analyzing one of my college "years" , from August 1st 2007- July 31st 2008. A 366 day year. (It is a leap year, after all)  And this is what I found.

Well, your percentage of "away" gets a bit higher if you don't go home for the summer. I never spent more than half of any given summer at home during college.
