Pet Peeve:

When people claim to be "photographers" by taking black and white photos of random objects very close up. A piece of fruit, a wrought iron fence, zoomed in so close you can hardly tell what it is! Oh, how artistic and original! Genius!Then they post their "artwork" on their profiles and their friends encourage them by giving compliments.

I agree. Miami is known for street photography and we don't get assignments in my class, just a number of how many photos we need for our next critique. The work I have seen down here is SO different than the stuff I've seen from students elsewhere.

Ugh I know exactly what you mean. It's always the same stuff over and over again and I think it's because it's so easy to do. But it's okay because it's not like they're ever going to get anywhere doing that boring crap.
