it's not you who's uncomfortable with long-term "we" or "us". it's him. if long-term is what you want / need, you should make it clear. it's silly to waste your time if he won't ever be ready for a real commitment. i mean you can always pull the brangelina and adopt a bunch of babies before you even think about marriage but even in that, there's an understanding of long term commitment even if it isn't in the conventional sense.
