the film experience is both collective and individual but there is nothing wrong with perceiving or engaging with a film differently from another. especially if you have different cultural references or life experiences from another viewer (that's how often people differ opinion wise) and plus people have different expectations with what "2 hours" will be. in my opinion the experience is about the reaction you get from watching a movie, good or bad. i feel like a movie that is truly unsatisfying is one that does not insight any type of reaction, an indifference. but if a movie, even if problematic, makes me feel intense emotion or causes me to have strong like or dislike is a movie at least i'm interested in, one worth dissecting. i almost like "bad" movies to show how critical i am as a viewer and just shows how much i still love film!

okay you can make fun of me now.
