I have been heathen since 93, certified as a Godman by a group of Elders in the Troth in 99, and active within the Midwest/Heartland since 96.  I have been acknowledged by many in that region, and specifically by my Kindred, as a Godhi, thus fulfilling the external idea of worth and honour.  However, to accomplish this task, I had to have quite a ( Read more... )

I have yet to hear of a better test then the Laugh Test: You say your a Gothi and no one laughs then you must be a Gothi. (Confirmation by crowd-sourcing?)

But I get that it's not terribly objective nor definitive.

Yeah they laugh at me a fair bit :-) But I have a stand-up comedian's approach to priesthood, as I did to being a prof. I regard the laughter as a sign they are listening and enjoying what I say '-)

I'd rather leave it to after my death for folks to judge my worth. And no one gets everyone's approval unless they're deathly dull and play it awfully safe. Which is to say . . . Rod, I don't know what brought that on, but I'm sure you do a great job with your kindred, why would it be otherwise?
