wow, i did something i've never done before. i went to a bar, albeit for 80s, by myself. i was supposed to meet my friend, but she got called to the er and i was already there, so i thought i might as well enjoy the music. first, these people asked me to take a picture of them. then they asked me to be in a picture with them. then i was dancing

I'm glad that you are having so much fun and making friends. I'm jealous. I think that I'll have trouble making more than friendly acquaintances at med school because I spend a lot of my free time with Matt. If I went out by myself, I could probably bond with my classmates a lot easier. A lot of them get together every weekend. But I don't want to go out without him. It's hard enough to make free time anymore, and when I have it it's only fair that I spend it with my husband. Right?

school is a great way to meet people. you have study groups, and can find an excuse to talk to anyone about homework or the latest test, etc. as with any time you move to a new place, it just takes effort to actually make friends. i always forget that, till i move again and am reminded...
