So, I spent the weekend grading....again. I can't believe how horrible the test results were. I'm not sure what I'm going to do. I mean, I don't want to fail about half of my kids...I'm going to have to start coming up with some other ways for my kids to get points and find out if they are getting the content. I need to figure something out

Try having them fill in a genric grapgic organizior. It will show if they have followed anything at all you have covered, but gives you room to give points for the little details. an example would be to have the topic in the middle, (a colony) and four aspects (cool information/fact, important people, new words having to do with the the topic, who settles there).
