Where there's smoke....

I love working in a metal shop. One of the few place where you can be drilling stuff, look up, look to your boss and nonchaintly say "There's a fire" and then you both finish what you are doing before dealing with it.

That's so true. My first ever smithing demo at a faire, I was working along making a spike or some such. I asked the audience if they had any questions. One guy raised his hand and asked, "Did you know your shirt was on fire?"

I looked down, saw it was so, said "No," finished my hammering on that heat, put it back in the fire, then put out my shirt sleeve. I consider it one of my pinaccle moments of cool.
