If you've taken the time to think about it and plan it and made the commitment to your current employer, you established that you're obligated to stick with them, at least until the situation might change at the current employer. Obligated as a very loose word. We don't maintain company loyalties like people used to - mostly because corporations do not cultivate those relationships with employees any more (and that you don't ever work 20 years for a pension at a company anymore).
Stick with your plan, $1500 is not enough to change that plan for you. Keep looking to the future where you are and keep on the radar (in a good way!) with the current employer!
